OUR HISTORY

A Legacy of Innovation, Expertise, and Precision Since 1979

THE HISTORY OF AWR

For over four decades, Aircraft Window Repairs (AWR) has been committed to excellence in aircraft window, lens, and prism repair. Founded in 1979 by Robert (“Bob”) Cupery, a former Northrop Director of Maintenance, and his wife, Kathi Cupery, AWR earned its place as an industry leader by combining cutting-edge innovation with an unwavering dedication to quality and safety.

From the beginning, Bob’s meticulous background in aviation maintenance set the tone for AWR’s high standards. As a Flight Engineer under a former Air Force One pilot, Bob developed a mindset where precision wasn’t optional—it was essential. This philosophy led him to pioneer AWR’s proprietary hard-coating processes for landing light and wingtip lenses, which were created at the request of Falcon Jet Corporation.

Kathi’s contributions were equally pivotal in AWR’s growth. With her entrepreneurial spirit and hands-on aviation insight, Kathi ensured the company prioritized the needs of clients, earning trust throughout the industry. Her leadership, coupled with her aviation knowledge, made AWR synonymous with expert quality, service, cost control, and on-time delivery.
